About the Item

Vase decorated with polychrome cloisonné enamels on a midnight blue ground, worked in silver wire depicting an eagle perched on a rock observing chidori fleeing over turbulent waters. The neck and foot are ornamented with a band of stylized geometric motifs, with a silver border and base. Work published in the volume "Selection 2024. Not signed Height : 30cm Meiji, c. 1890.
