Fantastic Chinese export four-panel Coromandel screen featuring a stunning gold leaf background. The black lacquered hardwood panels are incised with vibrant color depicting an idyllic landscaped courtyard. Colorful pagodas and trees decorate the scene with figures of beauties and children dressed in robes. The perimeter of the screen has a simple red border and is supported by brass-clad feet. The opposite side is decorated with flora and fauna. The screen is signed and sealed on upper left side.
