A Six-panel Gold Leaf Screen With A Large Dragon Emerging From The Clouds

About the Item

Six-panel gold leaf screen with a large dragon emerging from the clouds. The painting is done in the sumi-e technique, characterized by smooth, bold brush strokes that define the dragon's scales and cloud details. The panels are framed by a dark lacquer frame, enhanced by patinated bronze hardware. Signed in lower left hand corner. Period: Meiji Taisho early 20th century. Size: 169 x 375 cm. Conservation status: Excellent condition. Slight wear is present between the joints of the 1st and 2nd panels. Small paper crack between the 5th and 6th panels.
