Vintage bamboo and oiled paper Wagasa umbrella or parasol - large size - hand made - featuring an Orizuru (origami folded crane) print against a red circle - overall printed textile pattern - split bamboo structure - gloss varnished finish - signed on the handle (unknown/unidentified maker) - Japan - circa 1950's.
Excellent vintage condition - stiff resistance when opening (handle with care) - few minor pinholes in the paper - yellowing varnish throughout - bamboo splitting on the umbrella stop mechanism - no loss - no damage - no restoration - minor signs of age and use.
