A Canton carved tortoiseshell snuff box
19th Century
Of circular shape and carved in high relief to the cover depicting a boating scene with figures amid pavilions and trees in a formal garden, surrounded by a key border to the rim, a similar scene in low relief to the base depicting a man on horse amongst pavillions and pine trees, the sides carved with a repeating flowerhead border to the cover and a continuous scene of
trees and buildings to the base.
10 cm diameter. H-2.5 cm
In very good condition commensurate with age. A minor inner crack not visible to outside as the carving is very thick.Refer to photos.
