About the Item

Featuring a creative use of suede mixed with gilded bronze, these doors represent Maison Jansen's penchant for luscious materials blended in unexpected ways; moreover, as architectural elements, they are a vigorous, living vestige of the great firm's attention to each and every project. In this case, the pair were designed by Pierre Delbée for his own famous apartment, and led visitors into its main salon. Provenance: Installed in the library of the Paris apartment of Pierre Delbée, president of Maison Jansen, circa 1957-1974.
