George III Style Polished Steel Fire Grate

About the Item

A large antique George III style polished steel fire grate. In Victorian style, this three barred grate sits above a finely cut and pierced apron. Depictions of mythical beasts and flowers are amidst scrolling stylised foliage and surmounted by a pair of small steeple finials. The grate is supported to the front by a pair of standards with taller steeple finials above scrolled feet. An intricate and exquisite piece for a period property looking for a striking new feature.
