The Gothic: A Classic Tudor-Style Stone Fireplace with a Modern Twist
About the Item
Similar to our Tudor and Stuart fireplace designs, the Gothic stone fireplace features the traditional peaked arch, evoking the classic 16th century Tudor era, but greatly simplifies the lintel to give it a more modern feel. Unlike The Stuart, or The Tudor, The Gothic features a simple flat horizontal section across the top of the opening, but incorporates the peaked arch, with a more modern, whimsical curve, overlaid on the flat section below. Like The Tudor, The Gothic fireplace does not include plinths, but does share a similar but simplified version of The Tudor molding profile, with wider flat sections and fewer curved sections up through the legs and into the lintel. A slight chamfer is also featured running along the outer edges of the fireplace, and the shelf is also identical to The Tudor and The Stuart designs, flaring out on either side, with a simple molding profile. As with these other two fireplaces, The Gothic style is often seen in limestone, but works nicely in marble as well. It would look perfect in a Living Room, Family Room, Study, or even a larger Primary Bedroom. Custom sizes are available.
