Bespoke Pair Modern French Style Steel and Cast Iron Orangerie Planter Boxes
Located in New York, NY
Pair of Large Square French Style steel and cast iron orangerie planter boxes in lacquered white (as these are custom made to order, customers may request any color from the Benjamin Moore collection). Handcrafted in New Orleans by local metalsmiths using 14 gauge steel and cast iron, using centuries’ old French techniques. Each planter is raised to allow drainage through drilled holes on bottom plate. Corner posts are topped with a pinecone finial, an ancient symbol of open-heartedness. Specially crafted finishes offer durable protection while retaining a unique patina. Each planter is made by hand and is one of a kind. Grounded Collection Leather-Wrapped Planter
By Stephen Kenn
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Conceived while in lockdown in 2020, the Grounded Collection from Stephen Kenn is a mediation on being grounded in peaceful creative work, while enduring forced isolation from community. The concept of the collection is a play on the dual definitions of the word "grounded," from "not allowed to participate in social or recreational activities" to "well-balanced and sensible."
This piece includes a powder coated basin that has been wrapped in leather and stitched by hand, set in a river rock base. The vegetable tanned leather has been hand-aged to a rich patina using oils and waxes. Planter drains...

Mid-Century Architectural Pottery "Double Cone" Planter by LaGardo Tackett
By Architectural Pottery, Lagardo Tackett
Located in St. Louis, MO
Mid-Century Modern Architectural Pottery sculptural "Double Cone" Planter by LaGardo Tackett , rarely seen double cone version with wider base than top in a white glaze. Provenance 1960s MCM building of the Odd Fellows Association Hall - St. Louis. It was used with sand for an ashtray , seen in photos 5 & 6. The 1960s MCM modification to an existing building was designed by architect William E. Duncan and demolished in the summer of 2020. Duncan not only selected these planters , the entire hall, had Saarinen , Eames, Nelson, Howard Miller and Nessen designs. The condition is good, only with minor scuffs, no chips and light staining to interior as seen in photos. Stamped Architectural Pottery made in the USA. When the planter is on its side, it reminds me of the famous brass drawer pull on Paul McCobb designed furniture.
Building & Rendering
Odd Fellows Association Hall at 3765 Lindell Blvd, St. Louis Mo.
designed by William E. Duncan and Associate Architect Lawrence H. Smith , Delineation by Harry A, Osborn
