Pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Belle Époque Period Candelabras

About the Item

A superb and extremely high quality pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Époque period Brèche Violette marble and ormolu candelabras. Each candelabra is raised by a square base with concave corners, a stepped design adorned with wrap around beaded and berried laurel ormolu bands. Above the socle shaped pedestal supports the elegantly shaped bodies are encased by charming palmettes with richly chased ormolu mounts of Bacchus at each side connected by intricately detailed swaging floral garlands. Above the lightly curved necks are stunning arrays of ormolu branches with leaves and blooming flowers leading to the four impressive floral candle cups. All original gilt throughout. Candle height: 12".
