Small walnut longcase clock retailed by Garrards. Small walnut longcase clock standing on a raised, shaped moulded plinth with applied panel to the base and carved acanthus leaf decoration. Faux long trunk door with raised edging below the break arch hood with canted corners and glazed door. Brass dial with gilded corner spandrels, raised silvered chapter ring signed ‘Garrard and Co Ltd, 112 Regent St, London’. Silvered, raised boss to the arch signed ‘Tempus Fugit’. Eight day brass plated quarter Westminster chiming movement with strike/silent feature. c.1950.

This superb George I period antique longcase clock by Daniel Delander is cased in highly figured walnut veneer of lovely colour and patina. Standing on a double plinth there is a panelled base and moulded trunk door. The pull forward hood is flanked by quarter columns with brass capitals. The case retains the original caddy top surmounted by two finials. The square dial has an applied chapter ring with cherubin spandrels. The dial centre is finely matted with an engraved date aperture and subsidiary seconds dial. The original blued steel hands appear to be original and are finely wrought and pierced.
