About the Item

An exceptional French gilt bronze mantel clock marketed by Tiffany & Co, with classical cast gilt figures of a boy and girl reading on each side of the clock, a central raised panel with cherubs below the enameled dial, applied ormolu with faces and additional cherubs along the marble base, and an eagle crest with defined feather detail, all supported by original feet. The enameled dial with glass door and Arabic numerals is signed “Tiffany & Co, France,” and the brass works are stamped “Tiffany & Co, A 1, and 3326. The clock appears to be in good overall working condition, with original patina, minor surface edge wear along the marble, one small loss on the clock face, stylus or pen in boy's hand missing, as well as other minor imperfections and wear commensurate with age and use. Winding keys are included. Dimensions: 20.5 in H x 26 in W x 6 in D.
