About the Item

This beautiful clock containing later French works is decorated with scenes of Asian country life. It has a decorative brass handle, finials, face and legs. The wooden case is painted red with raised details of gold and brown. A charming timepiece. Chinoiserie decoration started in Europe during the mid-17th century with the influence of imported Chinese ceramics. The clock is in running order. N.P. Trent has been a respected name in antiques for over 30 years with a large collection of period furniture, art and decorative accessories.
