19th Century Diminutive Bronze & Marble Portrait Bust of Franz Liszt Germany, Late 19th Century A splendid bronze bust of famed composer Franz Liszt in later life. A handsome 3/4 bust redention depicting Liszt with his long hair. Complete with nameplate, raised on a 1.5-inch diameter carved specimen orange marble pedestal base. This work is unsigned. Some background information of Franz Liszt (1811 -1886) German/ Hungarian (1811 -1886) Liszt was a prolific composer, pianist and teacher of the Romantic era. Best known for his piano music. His piano works are often marked by their difficulty. Some of his works are programmatic, based on extra-musical inspirations such as poetry or art. Liszt is credited with the creation of the symphonic poem. Overall Measurements: 3-Inches wide x 2-Inches deep x 5-Inches high, raised on a 1.5-Inch diameter marble pedestal base.
