About the Item
A fine Carrara marble bust on a pedestal showing a woman wearing a toga tied with a fibula on the right shoulder in the manner of antique busts. The woman's facial features are the same as Milo's Venus' facial features : the artist considered Milo's original full-length statue and added a toga.
Our statue is an Italian sculpture circa 1900 signed Pugi (sculptor Guglielmo Pugi). It is a great piece to complete a neoclassical interior style. Its tall format makes it very decorative.
In excellent condition, undamaged.

Guglielmo Pugi
Guglielmo Pugi, born in Fiesole, Italy, was an Italian sculptor whose studio was in Florence. He was present at the 1901 World Fair in Buffalo and some of their sculptures are still in Buffalo parks today.
