About the Item
Bronze bust of Salvator Rosa, an Italian Baroque painter, poet and printmaker, known for romanticized landscapes and historical paintings.
The well cast bronze bust with a fine deep brown patina depicts Salvator Rosa with a hat, belt, paint pallet and brushes. Rests on a red marble base fitted with a plaque that reads "Salvator Rosa" and signed: "E. Picault", 290.
Dimensions: 11" W, 7 1/2" D, 19 1/2" H
Condition: Please see detail photosNote: The bronze is not connected to the base and the piece will ship in the two elements of the bust. Signs of age include minor chips, marks and superficial repairs to base which do not detract from the dramatic Baroque presentation.
