Brazilian Modernist Brass Rhino by Alvaro Franklin da Silveira

About the Item

Brass rhino sculpture designed in the 1970s by renowned Brazilian sculptor, Alvaro Franklin (Urandi, Bahia, 1935-2020). Having learned forging and foundry methods from his grandfather, Franklin is most recognized for his metal and marble sculptural works, despite being an accomplished artist in other mediums. Visually striking, modernist decorative object with good age/patina present, despite having been recently polished. There are spots of tarnish and scuffs, as shown. Branded "Franklin" and "AFS". H: 3.25" x L: 6.25" x D: 2"
