About the Item

An attention-grabbing bottle stopper „Eye", model #4538, designed by Carl Aubock II back in the early 1950s. A charming object, handcrafted by Werkstätte Auböck in Vienna / Austria. Although the design of this charming object dates back to the early 1950s, this bottle stopper has recently regained prominence among Carl Auböck's designs. It had the honor of being the signature design object for the "Iconic Auböck" exhibition at the MAK, the Vienna Museum of Applied Arts, in early summer 2024. It was featured on the exhibition announcements, posters, and catalog.Handcrafted from polished brass and cork, this piece features a hand-painted glass eye that vigilantly watches over the contents of the sealed bottle.Fully stamped and marked. A decorative and handcrafted object; each piece and finish will differ slightly. This is an evidence of the handmade production process and should not be considered as a defect. Ideally, you should order two as eyes usually come in pairs.
