Chartreuse Brazilianite Mineral Specimen – Linópolis, Brazil
About the Item
Brazilianite is a phosphate mineral loved for its brilliant color and gemlike crystals. Hues range from light-yellow to electric yellow-green, making it a favorite among specimen collectors and jewelry lovers alike. The average brazilianite specimen is a single, loose crystal, which makes undamaged specimens on matrix (host rock), especially those in clusters, very rare. This is one such example, a dense cluster of lustrous, brazilianite prisms boasting a vivid chartreuse color, and vitreous translucency. The crystals have sharp form, and many of them are even doubly terminated and suspended in their matrix as if defying gravity. At the forefront of the piece is a large primary crystal that stands face-on and upright, anchoring the overall composition. Contrasting accents of white albite and pearly muscovite provide added texture while punctuating the sleek brazilianite crystals. This sculptural example would make a great addition to any collection or complement any room.
