Rare & Beautiful Arita Japanese Porcelain Jug . Scene with figures and birds in a landscape. This 17th Century Japanese Export Porcelain Jug or Ewer, Arita Kilns c.1670-1690 is painted in lovely blue and white. The painting style is a mixture of Japanese, with influences of similar Chinese Transitional porcelain ewers. Visible is a lovely garden scene with figures. Additional information: Material: Porcelain & Pottery Region of Origin: Japan Decoration Type / Colour/: Blue & White Japanese Style: Arita Japan Dynasty Period: Edo Period (1603–1867) Condition: Firing flaw to base rim and 1 bumspotline, The neck was repainted, we removed it and seems it was a chip and line. This porcelain double gourd vase is a wonderful decorative object realized by a Japanese artist during the Edo period in the early 19th century. Painted with polychrome enamels, it shows on the body a bottom with alveoli on which Stand circular reserves decorated with real and fantastic animals seems to reproduce the zodiac signs. Furthermore, the original blanket is decorated with small sloping triangles and three bands with geometric and floral decorations. At the center of the base "Kutani Fuku" the relief mark.
