About the Item

STUDIO KERAMIK FLOOR VASE Atelier Herta Huber Roethe Landshut 1950s marked "HR" Manufacturer ATELIER HUBER ROETHE Design Period 1950 to 1959 Production Period 1950 to 1959 Country of Manufacture Germany H / height: 42cm ~ B / width: 23cm ~ T / depth: 23 cm ~ Gew. / weight: 3300grs DM / diameter base : 14cm :-: in very good condition AA+ :-: (as 1st dibs yet doesnt´t have "Huber Roethe" amongst their artists / manufacturers we had to list as "unknown") Studio ceramic vase by Herta / Gerda Huber - Roethe 1950's In 1930 Herta Huber - Roethe and her husband Ernst took over the ceramic pottery Achdorf in Landshut - Germany ... it was the period Germans discovered the "Land, wo die Zitronen blühen (J.W. v. Goethe)" :Italy the post war paradise. Condition: very good - I would say excellent (looks like it never has been used!) - no chips, cracks or hairlines Under the management of Herta Huber-Roethe, the Huber-Roethe ceramic workshop in Landshut-Achdorf developed a modern ceramic collection in the early 1950s, which met the contemporary taste of the economic miracle era with asymmetrically shaped and softly curved vessels in the "kidney-shaped style". At times, the company, which was subsequently run by Rainer Huber-Roethe and finally by his wife Gerda Huber-Roethe until 1984, employed up to twenty people.
