About the Item
Deeply engraved -- not molded -- in gorgeous glass crystal, this Art Deco vase depicts two nude female figures under a canopy of ivy. The glass sculpting is impressive and shows the hand of a master, probably from Czechoslovakia during its all-too-brief period of independence between the two world wars. Bohemia, Sweden and America were the leading centers of very fine Art Deco engraved glass in the 1920s and 30s, and this example is exquisite.
