Monumental Architectural Vase by Alessio Tasca

About the Item

5" x 7.75" x 27" Architectural scale vase by Alessio Tasca photographed with a Knoll dining chair to show scale. Produced in Italy using the constructivist method. Tasca produced pieces for Raymor for the United States market and this piece was perhaps imported by Raymor, but is signed as a studio production piece by the artist and features a unique modernist design not seen on his other pieces for Raymor. The motif is also two fold whereby one face and side is an abstract collection of geometric shapes, and the other face and side depicts fish and fishermen and more in line with his motif he used for Raymor. In outstanding condition with some marks to the base, otherwise outstanding. A complicated series of steps and several firings would have been performed to produce a piece of such complexity with a subtle wavy surface. Due to the size it could be used as a floor vase ad is certainly a statement making piece for any room or setting. Raymor imported items for Marcello Fantoni and Guido Gambone and on occasion did bring in unique studio production pieces for sale by these artists but it was uncommon.

Handblown Vase with Custom Stand by Nancy Freeman, 1979
By Nancy Freeman
Located in South Charleston, WV
Produced by American studio artisan Nancy Freeman of the Catskills Mountains of New York, 1979 signed and dated. Measures 8" tall and 6" wide and deep. Exquisite ribbons of reds and orange color run through the vase and reminds one of the Charisma Series for Blenko. This urn vase has a purposeful bulge on the bottom where the signature is, and this is where the handcrafted Stand comes in with its hole below allowing the glass bulge to enter, thus it prevents the glass from tipping over. The Stand is custom-made by Freeman for the vase from wood and is likely mahogany. A very unique piece from the artist. It is unique and makes an excellent designer decor...
