About the Item

Vaso vintage unico di Pietro Chiesa questo vaso speciale è stato disegnato da Pietro Chiesa nel 1932 e realizzato da Fontana Arte fino agli anni '70. È un pezzo decorativo realizzato in vetro verde satinato e ha una bella forma a "Cartoccio", come un sacchetto di carta. Ciò che lo rende ancora più caratteristico è che ogni vaso è un po' diverso perché tutti realizzati a mano. Pietro Chiesa, membro di un'importante famiglia di artisti ticinesi, Svizzera, aprì la propria bottega di vetraria nel 1921 dopo aver imparato il mestiere presso la vetreria Giannotti. All'inizio degli anni '20 espone le sue opere in varie mostre a Venezia, Monza, Parigi, Colonia e Barcellona. Tra le sue creazioni, caratterizzate da modernità e abilità tecnica, ricordiamo le vetrate per la Borsa di Trieste e il transatlantico Conte di Savoia. Nel 1932 Gio Ponti invitò Chiesa a co-dirigere la neonata Fontana Arte, dove progettò oltre mille oggetti, alcuni dei quali, come il tavolo curvo Fontana (1932) e la lampada da terra Luminator (1933), rimangono icone del design. storia.
