These exceptional antique George III Newcastle sterling silver mugs have has a panelled octagonal form. The surface of each Georgian silver mug is embellished panels of bright cut engraved stylised floral sprays, incorporating a vacant shaped cartouche to the anterior segment. The plain panelled foot and upper rim of the body are encompassed with bands of applied moulded decoration. The mug is fitted with an impressive scroll handle, enveloped with an impressive leaf design incorporating a scrolling thumbpiece. The interior of each mug retains the original gilding. These exceptional antique George IV Newcastle sterling silver coasters have a circular rounded form. Each coaster has a wirework body which incorporates the original applied oval vacant cartouche encompassed with a thread decorated border. The upper rim of each coaster is ornamented with an undulating wirework border. The coasters are fitted with fine and impressive turned mahogany bases, embellished with the original silver buttons to the centre. These sterling silver coasters are fitted with green baize to the underside.
