12 Exceptional Steuben Baluster Water Goblets c1940 American

About the Item

Circa 1940, by the Steuben Glass Works, Corning, NY. Known as the #7877 baluster stem, this is the most coveted of all modernist glasses. Intended as a water glass, today these goblets find more usage as wine goblets. This George Thompson design is perfectly balanced, deliciously heavy in the hand, and visually pleasing, while conspicuously modern. Excellent condition. Remarks from Lawrence Jeffrey: “Steuben is authentic American chic. Perfect in any décor, and exceptional in a mid-century setting - think Vladimir Kagen or George Nakashima furniture.” SIZE: 6 3/4 inches high and 3 5/8 inch diameter STOCK NUMBER: 24735 Pieces acquired from this dealer must delight you. Purchases may be returned for any reason for a period of 3 days.
