About the Item
A dramatic tall early Loetz vase. Very early and imposing Loetz enamelled Onyx pattern vase, brown and red on a pink base with blue stripes and classic Islamic style enamelling down the collar and repeated around the base. Probably made for the Islamic market c1888/9. One of a series of early Loetz patterns designed to look like marbling
Loetz was, and still is, probably the most famous and most collected of the great Bohemian glass makers.
