About the Item

An Iconic Loetz small glass vase in the important Nautilus pattern in the classic Candia Martele colourway with gold glass rim and three long twisted gold hot applied tadpoles trailing almost all down the sides - a striking and distinctive design Nautilus was created by Loetz in 1903 at the peak of their fame. The vase is in a particularly elegant shape with a bulbous body thinning towards the neck and then flaring to the top. Nautilus is one of the most popular Loetz patterns and it is often considered that no Loetz Collection can be complete without an really nice example of this pattern -like this one. Loetz was, and still is, probably the most famous and most collected of the great Bohemian glass makers.
