About the Item

The serving slice is modelled in the rare "Ore" pattern and the handle is engraved with prick dot borders and a flower head, where it is attached to the main blade. The centre of the blade is pierced and engraved with a very unusual stylised foliate spray surrounded by a border of pierced ovals. The side of the blade is decorated with a band of foliate designs and the top with a large oval vacant cartouche, surrounded by leaves. The Slice is unusually marked on both the reverse of the blade and the handle. Serving slices from Aberdeen are extremely rare, especially with this very Scottish Provincial design. Measures: Length 13 inches, 32.5 cm Weight 6oz.
