About the Item

Refined polychrome porcelain perfume burner, in the shape of potiche, painted with refined geometric decorations in gold on a light magenta red background and splendid bouquet of flowers. The base and the band of the perforated lid, with foliate motifs and ornamental ribbons, are in engraved and gilded bronze. Made in France in the 19th century in Louis XVI style, it’s inspired by the famous porcelain of Sèvres manufacture. A perfume burner is an object usually composed of a container in which odorous essences are burnt and a pierced lid that lets the perfume spread in the environment. Even if it does not perform its natural function, this perfume burner will have a valuable decorative function given its particular formal and coloristic line.
