About the Item

This is a beautiful porcelain duo of a cup and saucer by the Derby factory, made during the George 111rd period of the first half of the 19th century, circa 1810 The hand decoration is very well done, both pieces having a deep border pattern of intertwining gilt leaves with red detail and a single cobalt blue line around the pattern mid section, with additional gilded detail to the rims and outer handle. Both pieces are fully marked with the Derby Crown, crossed batons with "D" under, together with a 19 in the margin, all hand painted in red. The 19 represents the gilder or painters tally number. Overall a very beautiful example of Derby porcelain.
