Meissen stunning figurine's bust: season's figurine of autumn / fall Model K 177 Measures: Height: 9.84 inches (= 25.0 cm) Eidth: 5.51 inches (= 14.0 cm) Depth: 4.33 inches (= 11.0 cm) Manufactory: Meissen Hallmarked: Blue Meissen Sword Mark (bottom not glazed) model number K 177 / former's number 57 First quality  Dating: fourth quarter of the 19th century / made circa 1880 Material: porcelain, glossy finish, multicolored painted Technique: handmade porcelain Style: Neo-Baroque Designed by: Heinrich Schwabe (1847 - 1924). The sculptor had studied at the School of Applied Arts in Nuremberg (Germany) / he was Professor in Nuremberg during the period as from the year 1875 until 1907. Schwabe was well-known for having designed the famous Cupid L-Series on behalf of Meissen manufactory / apart from that, the sculptor created busts, children and genre figurines. The model K 177 was created circa 1876-1877. Detailed description: Bust of a lovely chubby faced boy, with snub nose and opened mouth. The child's bust is decorated with blue wine grapes as well as with wine leaves wound around child's head and neck = these vegetable attributes are symbols of fall / autumn. The modelling is of finest quality, the details are excellently shaped / the child's face is of stunning appearance.
