MEISSEN GORGEOUS FIGURINES OF SEASONS: SPRING - SUMMER - AUTUMN / FALL - WINTER THE DETAILS ARE STUNNINGLY SCUPLTURED = FINEST MODELLING DESIGN: -- JOHANN JOACHIM KAENDLER (1706 - 1775) The sculptor was since year 1731 modeller of Meissen manufactory - he is one of the best modellers Meissen manufactory ever had. - Kaendler designed the SEASONS' FIGURINES (MODELS 2502 / 2490 / 2495 / 2499) in year 1757.   ALL FIGURINES ARE HALLMARKED BY MEISSEN BLUE SWORD MARK WITH POMMELS ON HILTS (GLAZED BOTTOM) OF PERIOD AROUND 1850. FIRST QUALITY SPECIFICATIONS: -- SPRING (model number 2502 / former's number 121 / painter's number 4) The cherubs hold flower festoon, flower's bundles and basket of flowers. Three figurines have sat down (one of them is situated on pedestal in middle area) / one cherub is going to make a large step forwards (it is supported by a tree's stump), bending its upper body forwards. - The figurine group is attached to three-sided base decorated with Rocaille ornaments. -- SUMMER (model number 2490 / former's number 74 / painter's number 2) THERE ARE FOUR FIGURINES VISIBLE: - a cherub situated on ears of corn, having fallen asleep - the second one seizes a sickle - the third one holds some tips of ears of corn in hands - the fourth cherub is walking, having shouldered some ears of corn. The figurine group is attached to oblong rocky base decorated with Rocaille ornaments. -- AUTUMN / FALL (model number 2499 / former's number 121-163 / painter's number 12) THERE ARE FOUR FIGURINES VISIBLE, TOO: They are gathering around a billy goat / they handle with wine grapes which are SYMBOL OF AUTUMN ... additionally, one of cherubs supports itself on a basket filled with wine grapes / the lovely billy goat seems to relish the wine leaves ... The figurine group is based on rocky socle decorated with Rocaille ornaments. -- WINTER (model number 2495 / former's number 163-74) FOUR FIGURINES are gathering around blazing fire which is SYMBOL OF WINTER ... The cherub of middle area - situated on pedestal - wears a purple red mantle lined with fur, a second one is shouldering billets of wood, the other two ones are heating their hands above fire. This figurine group is based on oblong socle which has impression to be snow-clad / snow covered.
