Jacob Mardochee, known as Petit (1796-1865), studied in the studio of the painter Gros. After a great tour of Europe, he moved to Fontainebleau circa 1830 where he opened a factory. The eccentricity and eclecticism of his style characterize the many productions of Jacob Petit.
