About the Item

A rare and beautifully preserved set of 4 English porcelain dessert plates, attributed to Minton & Boyle, Staffordshire, circa 1836–1841. These early 19th-century pieces represent the refined elegance of the Rococo Revival era in British porcelain. Each plate features finely moulded leaf and scroll relief with hand-painted floral bouquets in vibrant overglaze enamel. The artistry is typical of Minton & Boyle’s transitional style before the firm evolved into the celebrated Minton brand. The mark “M&B English Porcelain” on the reverse confirms the attribution to Minton & Boyle, used during their partnership from 1836 to 1841. The porcelain is a fine feldspar (felspar) body, valued for its creamy white tone and delicate translucency. 🔹 Origin: Staffordshire, England 🔹 Date: Circa 1836–1841 🔹 Maker: Attributed to Minton & Boyle 🔹 Technique: Moulded and hand-painted feldspar porcelain 🔹 Style: Rococo Revival 🔹 Diameter: 22.5 cm (8.85 in) 🔹 Condition: Excellent antique condition with only light age-related wear. No cracks or restorations. An exquisite addition for collectors of early English porcelain or for those who appreciate timeless floral artistry on fine ceramic.
