19th Century French Silver Commemorative 3-Dimensional Napoleon Portrait Spoon  Unmarked, France, 19th Century  A remarkable 19th-century French silver commemorative spoon featuring a stunning 3-dimensional portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte. Cast with exquisite detail, this historical masterwork measures 10.25 inches in length and 3.25 inches in width. The portrayal of Napoleon is strikingly lifelike, depicting him standing in his iconic bicorn hat and famous grey "redingote" frockcoat, which distinguished him among his entourage. His right hand holds a spyglass, symbolizing his strategic prowess, while his left hand rests within the coat, evoking a sense of dignity and nobility. 'Narragansett', a sculptural Shell Dish & Figural Crab Spoon, this offering is the example without a slight gold wash finish. This sterling silver shell oyster shell complete with figural crab spoon, a diminutive work, yet a captivating piece is a true testament to the artistry of Gorhams American Aesthetic silversmithing. The oval shell is skillfully encrusted with barnacles, creating a mesmerizing texture, and is raised on a smaller vertical rough piddock shell, complete with a rare addition a intertwined rope crab encrusted nautilus spoon.
