About the Item
An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of vintage George VI English sterling silver coasters; an addition to our range of collectable silverware
These exceptional vintage sterling silver coasters have a circular rounded shaped form.
The body of each George VI coaster is plain and unembellished with a shaped upper rim ornamented with an impressive applied gadroon decorated border accented with alternating Regency style leaf designs.
These silver bottle coasters retain the original turned stained oakwood bases.
These coasters are fitted with green baize to the underside.
The lower rim of each coaster bears the retailer's mark/icon (Aladdin's lamp) of James Dixon and registration number '1406'.
Condition
These vintage sterling silver coasters are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Each coaster has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The applied decoration is very sharp. Full hallmarks to the anterior surface of each coaster are all very clear.

An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare pair of antique George IV English sterling silver coasters made in Newcastle; part of our silver wine related collection.
These exceptional antique George IV Newcastle sterling silver coasters have a circular rounded form.
Each coaster has a wirework body which incorporates the original applied oval vacant cartouche encompassed with a thread decorated border.
The upper rim of each coaster is ornamented with an undulating wirework border.
The coasters are fitted with fine and impressive turned mahogany bases, embellished with the original silver buttons to the centre.
These sterling silver coasters are fitted with green baize to the underside.
This style of coaster is rare to the market due to the limited output from the provincial Newcastle George Samuel Lewis & John Wright.

These fine antique George III sterling silver coasters have an octagonal shaped form onto a stepped base.
Each coaster is embellished with a band of pierced and pin struck decoration to the upper portion and plain pin struck borders to each panel.
The decoration to the body of each piece incorporates a pin struck bordered shaped cartouche displaying a contemporary bright cut engraved crest.
