18th Century Naive Landscape

About the Item

An 18th century naive landscape, in the middle ground is a neoclassical structure and round tower, the forerground with an extensive landscape depicting cows grazing, an angler, and a broad river scene, with a mother and daughter on a daybed. This unusual painting depicts a rural idyl. A graceful country house set in a bountiful landscape, cows graze, swans swim, anglers cast. In the foreground, a contented mother and daughter wave. The painting is simple and direct. This is surely the peaceable kingdom.
