Rare Pair of Large French 19th Century Chandeliers

About the Item

A rare pair of large French 19th century chandeliers. Each with six lights, the gilded shaped arms applied with opalescent beads, the central columns clad in shaped glass sleeves, the whole hung with drops and violin shaped crystals, with gilt bronze drip pans and nozzles. These were originally made for candles and later modified, the drip pans and sockets are later added since we did not receive the originals. Anecdotally, when we purchased these in Ottawa they were said to be from the French embassy. The central glass columns are unmarked but entirely in the style of Baccarat .We bought these disassembled and reassembled them exactly as seen, from the crystals provided. They are unusual both in quality and design, there never was an upper tier of further lights, instead we have this shimmering crystal tower, the overall effect is of light and airiness.
