Gio Ponti was an icon of the modernist movement: the Italian designer, architect, artist and publisher contributed significantly to the worlds of architecture and design with his extensive work in Fine furniture and ceramics, education, office and residential buildings, and everything in between.
Gio Ponti was born in 1891 in Milan. It was there that he spent his childhood, and in 1921 he began to study architecture at the Politecnico di Milano. From 1923 to 1930 he served as the artistic director of the Richard-Ginori porcelain factory. In 1927, Ponti started his first architectural office, together with Emilio Lancia, and in 1928 he started the magazine Domus, which is still regarded as one of the most influential European magazines for architecture and design. He was also very influential during the period as a curator of the Milan Triennale.
After his collaboration with Emilio Lancia had come to an end, upon completion of the Torre Rasini, he began to work as an architect together with the engineers Antonio Fornaroli and Eugenio Soncini...

Sergio Mazza is an Italian designer born in 1931 in Milan.In 1955 he began his professional career and from 1961 he worked alongside G. Gramigna in the Smc studio, working in the field of furniture and industrial design.
Among the various awards received, we remember the report at the Compasso d'Oro 1960 for the Delta lamp by Artemide and the silver medal for the Italian Apartment at the X Triennale in Milan.
From 1967 he began to design also for Olivari, signing the handles Macco, until the model Giuliana, with Gramigna, of 1987. In the field of publishing, always with Gramigna, he directed the magazine "Ottagono" from its foundation until 1988.

This eccentric chandelier model ‘12701’ is designed by the renowned and talented Italian designer Angelo Lelli for Arredoluce. The design features five diffusers executed in beautiful white opaline glass, radiating a soft and delicate light through the room. The frame in black lacquered polished brass creates this spatial arrangement of the pendants that are attached to it, which ensures that the light is evenly divided. Lelii decided to stay modest with the suspension of the light diffusing body by implementing four nylon cables.
Paolo Angelo Lelii (1911-1979) was born in Ancona, Italy. After his studies at the Superior Institute of Industrial Art, Milan, he lived and worked in Monza. From 1943, Lelii started manufacturing lamps in his own house and in 1946 he advertised his well-known 'Tris...
