This is an absolutely fabulous pair of Italian carved wood candlesticks converted to table lamps, early 19th century, painted with ivory lacquer and finished with original gold leaf gilding.
Each candlestick stands on a tripod base ending with scrolled feet, with gilt ornament to the centre panel and gilt decorations to the upper stem; it's the usual pattern with only one side decorated, wired and in perfect working condition.
The lampshades are new handmade using Fortuny fabric, Caravaggio pattern, in deep burgundy & gold color, finished with gold trim.
