About the Item
A sensational and large scale Italian 18th century Venetian st. Giltwood mirror. The mirror retains all original mirror plates and is raised by two 'C' scrolled supports flanking the scalloped shaped bottom frieze. The center of the frieze displays a pierced central foliate spray. The two piece central mirror plates are framed within a double Giltwood frame with various scrolled foliate branches. The frame leads up to the top crown with a central mirror plate with a floral bottom decoration flanked by additional foliate branches. At the top is the most elegant pierced central reserve foliate spray which mimics the one at the bottom center. Exceptional quality throughout.
