About the Item

A beautiful Italian early 19th century Neo-Classical st. Kingwood, Tulipwood, and ebonized Fruitwood mirror in the manner of Giuseppe Maggiolini. The mirror retains its original mirror plate set within a fine mottled border. The base of the mirror displays a plinth-like design with a charming foliate band and two intricately detailed sphinges at the center flanked by elegant Rinceau shaped scrolled foliate inlaid designs and urns with flowers at each side. Additional lovely foliate designs lead up each side to the lovely scallop shaped top crown decorated with masterfully inlaid and most charming personages holding a woven basket with flowers amidst scrolled foliate designs with a fine checkerboard like inlaid top band.
