About the Item

This wonderful toy will give anyone joy when they see it in operation. Just pull the lever down on the right side, let it go, and watch Howdy fly around the bar. Please check out our video. It is NOT plastic, but celluloid, and the rest is metal. 1st dibs has no category for celluloid, so I checked plastic. Many good old toys were made out of celluloid, not many survived. Celluloid is a fine material much like film . The toy is signed on the underside by Novelty Associates and was made in West Germany as were many toys of the 1950's. We baby boomers all know Howdy Doody, but I suggest if you don't know who he was, check him out. He was a special puppet on the tube for over a decade. This toy will give many hours of pleasure. We have owned it for over 30 years. The buyer will, I'm sure, do the same.
