A Very Fine 19th Century Fully Restored Brass Fire Screen

About the Item

A very fine 19th Century polished brass fire screen, fully restored and of exceptional quality. The protective wire mesh of oval form is set within an intricately detailed reeded and fluted brass frame with beautiful motifs comprising of trailing foliate, ruffles, flowerheads and scroll detail throughout, flanked with a fabulous pair of arrangements of flowers to each side. Surmounted with an elegant pierced and reeded carrying handle with ribbon, scrolls and trailing foliate, the wire mesh itself is exquisitely adorned to the central reserve with a Neoclassical urn with a stunning bouquet of flowers, supported on graceful out-scrolling trestle foot.
