Very Rare Vintage Hermes French Silk Scarf and Irish Linen Cushion Pillow Blue
By Hermès
Located in Belfast, Northern Ireland
Katie Larmour Studio is the original vintage scarf pillow maker. Gaining notability for her unique idea and creations back in 2013 - featured in the likes of the Financial Times, and first selling here on 1stdibs in 2016 - our creations are of the absolute top most quality, craftsmanship and finesse. Thank-you for looking. Title: Very rare vintage hermes French silk scarf and Irish linen cushion pillow blue Equestrian Description: The ‘crème de la crème’ of scarves, this beauty is a one-of-a-kind luxury cushion (pillow) created from an exquisite vintage silk Hermes fashion scarf. The French company began in 1837 producing superior quality leather goods, harnesses and saddles, which makes sense that 100 years later the main theme on their luxury scarves is equestrian. Hermes scarves, known as ‘carre’ (squares), have become a symbol of French chic and are a highly desirable object across the globe that still continues to delight. Favoured by the ‘jet-setters’ of the 50s and 60s and gaining iconic status by Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and this particular elegant design even worn by Queen Elizabeth II. The name of the print, ’Clic Clac’ - alluding to the clattering of horses - along with the brand’s signature, ’Hermes’, and artist Julia Abadie’s name, ‘J. Abadie’, proudly feature within the picture. Note the text ‘Hermes Souris’, translating as Hermes ‘Mouse’ or ‘Mice’, and ‘Clic Clouc’. First designed in 1979, the attractive equestrian design is a delicately detailed illustration of elaborate bridal equipment - with various buckles, a pair of traditional leather blinkers, six old fashioned blackthorn horsewhips and pommels. In a soft, delicate blue and subtle creamy beige tone with muted browns colour-way with an essence of Mid-Century Modern design. It was made using the ‘Lyonnaise technique’ silk screen process with each of it’s 13 frames traditional laid one by one by hand (the more complex patterns can go out to 42). Before being carefully unravelled to create our cushion, the edge was delicately hand rolled and hemmed, a distinctive French style finish of all Hermes scarves. We also have a couple of other similar stunning Hermes scarf cushions...

Rare Vintage Hermes Blue and Gold Silk Astronomy Scarf and Irish Linen Cushion P
Title: Rare Vintage Hermes Blue and Gold Silk Astronomy Scarf and Irish Linen Cushion Pillow Description: The ‘crème de la crème’ of scarves, this beauty is a one-of-a-kind custom made luxury cushion (pillow) from an exquisite and rare vintage silk mythological themed Hermes fashion scarf designed by Philippe Ledoux, who has created many beautiful ‘carrés' for the Maison Hermes. First issued in 1964 the ‘Cosmos’ print has been re-issued several times. Here it is in a harmonious colour way of varying shades of blue crowned with illustrations in lavish antique gold. The mythological design depicts Phoebus, also known as Apollo, the god of sun and light, gallantly riding his chariot across the sky, making the sun rise and set across the universe. In all four corners of this print, he is seen charging from the heavens, from two different angles of perspective, with his chariot and horses galloping on a seemingly weightless cloud upon elegant scrolling golden leaves. The busy picture features ornamental details and architectural Renaissance motifs, spiralling and curling, connected by intricate and interlacing decorative ribbons and topped with striking stars. Scattered across the surface are smaller subtle twinkling stars adding to the magic and alluding to a midnight theme. Note the iconic ‘Hermes Paris’ proudly running long the bottom centre also in gold, the artist’s signature ‘Ledoux’ nearby on the bottom right hadn’t corner, and another ‘C Hermes’ in the top right hand corner, the ‘C’ for copyright being found on Hermes earlier...

The Book of the Bath Hardcover 1998 by Francoise De Bonneville
Located in North Hollywood, CA
The Book of the Bath Hardcover – October 15, 1998 by Francoise De Bonneville (Author) published by Rizzoli. 1st edition, 1st printing, 1998. For over 2000 years, in the Far East as in the West, bathing and showering have been more than practical necessities. Bathing has become a rite and a refuge, and this is the first book to lavish due attention on the history of the bath across the centuries and around the world. Although the room for bathing as we know it has existed for only a century, public baths wee institution in ancient cultures; and, of course, beginning n the Renaissance, bathing was not just hygienic, but a sensual and sybaritic event. In The Book of the Bath, abundant illustrations- from Byzantine frescoes and Orientalist paintings of harems...

Vintage Hermes Equestrian Silk Scarf and Irish Linen Cushion Pillow

Thank-you for looking. Title: Vintage Hermes Equestrian Silk Scarf and Irish Linen Cushion Pillow The ‘crème de la crème’ of scarves, this beauty is a one-of-a-kind luxury cushion (pillow) created from an exquisite vintage silk Hermes fashion scarf in their festive ‘Les Rubans Du Cheval’ equestrian pattern by Joachim Metz in 1988. A variety of elaborate ribbon rosettes in vibrant, colourful hues - an ornament made of pleated material, gathered so as to resemble a rose and worn as a decorative badge to show ranking in a competition. The name of the print along with the brand’s signature proudly features in the centre. The attractive equestrian design is a delicately detailed illustration of bridal equipment with buckles, leather straps, feminine mermaids holding up functional hoops and lions holding crests on other sections of the metal hardware adorning the elaborate piece. It features a display of two equestrian horse bride dressings symmetrical like a mirror image of each other. In a dramatic, busy picture of multicoloured ribbon colour way on a quality sumptuous twill silk with a beautiful texture. It was made using the ‘Lyonnaise technique’ silk screen process with each of it’s 13 frames traditional laid one by one by hand (the more complex patterns can go out to 42). The Sketchbooks of Picasso "Je Suis Le Cahier" Hardcover Book 1st Ed. 1986
By (after) Pablo Picasso
Located in North Hollywood, CA
"Je Suis Le Cahier" The Sketchbooks of Picasso hardcover book 1st Edition 1986 The Sketchbooks of Picasso "Je Suis Le Cahier". Pablo Picasso, "Picasso considered all of his works to be entries in his diary; he excluded nothing. The sketchbooks are generic chapters inextricable from his oeuvre. In Picasso's paintings the spontaneity of gesture is deceptive since the manner is which he leaves his tracks visible superficially suggests minimal preparation. Although most of Picasso's solutions appear to be immediately worked out on the canvas, this was far from the fact. Many paintings sprang fully formed as the fulfillment of preconscious models, but very often others were the product of the process of trial solution and discovery through drawing. There are eight sketchbooks for Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, five for the saltimbanques, four for the Luncheon on the Grass series, and two for The rape of the Sabines. In sketchbook No. 171, Picasso inscribed...
