The truly amazing thing about pieces from past eras is the incredibly smart designs coupled with attention to detail-a beautiful combination of form and function. This Victorian-era thread spool tree is one such example. With its hardy construction of cast metal/brass and two rotating tiers holding 12 total spool holders and antique spools, finished with a top cushion cup for holding pins and needles, not only was it functional, it was beautiful to display in your work area.
Now fast forward to today and imagine this piece in a kitchen used to hold natural twin for wrapping backed goods. Or perhaps it sits on the work table of a clothing designer or an artistic/crafty person, holding different ribbons and threads.
