Four Antique English Porcelain Shell Shaped Dishes Made circa 1810
By Miles Mason Porcelain
Located in Katonah, NY
WHY WE LOVE IT: The founder of Bardith, Edith Wolf, always said, "Miles Mason never made a piece of porcelain that wasn't beautiful." This group of four shell-shaped dishes was made in the Regency period, circa 1810. Like many of Miles Mason's best designs, this pattern has flair. It is one of his finest patterns. The two pairs of dishes are fully painted with pink and orange flowers with green leaves. The unexpected combination of pink with orange highlighted with green makes this a gorgeous pattern. Placed in a cabinet or on a wall, these dishes will make an entire room come alive. Dimensions: 8.5" tall x 8" wide Condition: Excellent Price: $620 for the group For an image of a dish in this pattern, see R Haggar and E Adams: "Mason Porcelain and Ironstone 1796-1853, fig 85. For more information on a variety of Miles Mason's patterns, see "Miles Mason Porcelain a Guide to Patterns and Shapes" by D. S. Skinner and V. Young and the Stoke-on Trent City Museum. Background of Miles Mason In 1796 Miles Mason entered into a partnership with the experienced porcelain manufacturer Thomas Wolfe...

English Ironstone Imari Platter
Located in Pasadena, CA
This is an exceptionally large English mid-19th century Victorian Ironstone Platter decorated in a beautifully detailed Japanese Imari pattern. The enameling is sharp with deep coloration and the overlaid gold is in very good original condition. The platter is marked "Stone China" on the reverse. The platter is in very good overall condition with normal patination and very minimal losses to the painted decoration. There is a bit of wear to the underside of the rim which does not detract from the value of the platter. Platers of this size are very uncommon and desirable. This piece could be installed as a work of art or even fitted with a custom table base...

Lucky Bean Wallpaper Geometric Botanical in Natural
By Newton Paisley
Located in Kent, GB
Beatrice Edit Product Code: 50A Color: Natural Roll dimensions: 70cm x 10m (27.6in x 10.9yards) Area: 7sq.m (8.4 sq.yards) Vertical repeat: 23.33cm (9.2"in) Pattern repeat: Straight Wallpaper: The designs are printed on Uncoated Non-woven 147gsm.  The uncoated wallpaper has a matt finish and vibrant but gentle, muted colours. Fire rating: Fire certified for both Europe and the USA. Classified to BS En 13501-1-1:2002, class B, s1, d0 Lucky Bean - Erythrina lysistemon is an African wonder tree that fertilises the soil, helps farmers time their planting with the appearance of the stunning red blossoms in Spring, makes live barbed fencing, provides black and red seeds for jewellery… As well as these uses, every part of the plant provides sustenance: the flowers give nectar to birds and bees, the leaves are eaten by creatures from rhinos to kudu, the flower buds are relished by vervet monkeys, and the bark is consumed by elephants and baboons. Even the roots are eaten by bush pigs. What a lucky bean.  This design is part of The Beatrice Edit, a collaboration between biologist/designer Susy Paisley and her daughter Beatrice, who is a budding interior designer. and avowed minimalist. One day, in a conversation about their different tastes, it occurred to them to do an edit of Newton Paisley designs for people who, like Beatrice, think less is more in their interiors. Best-selling Newton Paisley designs were reimagined as one-colour 18th century toile de Jouys; favourite botanical details from other designs were reconfigured in simple airy geometrical repeats. In this, Susy and Beatrice found themselves inspired by the beautiful folk motifs of Ukrainian embroidery...

H & R Daniel Pair of Sauce Tureens, Shrewsbury Shape, Flowers, Regency ca 1827
By H&R Daniel
Located in London, GB
This is a stunning pair of sauce tureens made by H&R Daniel in aboutn 1827. The tureens are made in the popular Shrewsbury shape and have beautiful flower paintings inside the bowls. The tureens are missing their covers and stands, but we have several items of this dessert service available, please see second image and separate listings. Please note that the listing summary erroneously mentions that this is a set of 8 - it is not! It's just 2 pieces. The H & R Daniel porcelain factory was founded by Henry Daniel, son of a family of master colour makers. He headed up the decoration department in the famous Spode factory where he oversaw all the beautiful early Spode decorations. In 1822 he opened his own factory with his son Richard, creating a truly iconic body of work with the most subtle colours and beautifully painted flowers and landscapes. The Daniel factory was the last true cottage industry among the English potteries, resisting the increase of industrialisation and mass production. This resulted in extraordinary and unrivalled quality, but it probably also led to the factory having to close its doors in 1846 because it could no longer compete with others who did modernise. Daniel porcelain can be hard to identify as the factory was only around for about two decades, and Daniel items have therefore become true collectors' items. This set is potted in the Shrewsbury Shape, which was first designed in 1826 for the Earl of Shrewsbury...

Robert Adam George III Silver Gilt Vase by Daniel Smith and Robert Sharp London
By Daniel Smith & Robert Sharp, Robert Adam
Located in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom
A fine and rare 18th century George III silver-gilt vase by Daniel Smith and Robert Sharp, London 1770. Based on a design by the Italian printmaker Stefano della Bella (1610-1664). The design was adapted by the architect Robert Adam (1728-1792). The overall form of the vase and some of the ornaments, such as the drapery swags, figural masks and acanthus leaves on the body, are based on a design by the Italian printmaker Stefano della Bella (1610-1664). He produced about 1,400 prints during his lifetime which were very influential, particularly a series of designs for vases in Raccolta di Vasi Diversi, published between 1639 and 1648. The design was adapted by the architect Robert Adam (1728-1792), whose drawing, now in Sir John Soane's Museum in London and was copied by the highly-fashionable silversmithing partnership Daniel Smith and Robert Sharp. Daniel Smith and Robert Sharp’s partnership ran from 1763-1788. They supplied high-quality silver and silver gilt in the Neo-classical style to the most fashionable retailers and clients, including the Prince Regent. They were the principal manufacturers of a series of magnificent race cups, one of which was designed by the architect Robert Adam (1728-1792) and another is in the Royal collection Robert Adam (1728-1792) was arguably the most famous eighteenth century British architect and designer, whose remarkable career in partnership with his brothers James and William has been thoroughly documented elsewhere and whose major commissions can still be seen at Harewood House...
