About the Item

Size: 14ft 2in x 4ft 3in (433 x 129cm). Antique Caucasian Kuba region 'Konagkend' runner, with all over repeat design. Circa 1900. The dark indigo field is filled with finely drawn repeat design, typical of those found in the Kuba region attributed to Konagkend. The border is one of the more uncommon designs found on rugs from this region but it frames the runner really well. There is a small panel in the top left hand corner containing an inscription and the date '1332'. The runner is in excellent condition with very slight even wear and full pile of fine soft wool. The kilim retains a short section of original kilim at both ends. Hand washed and ready for use or display. The runner is suitable for normal domestic use.
