About the Item

Andy Warhol was a prominent American artist who was a leading figure in the Pop Art movement. His work explored themes of consumerism, celebrity, and mass production, often using techniques like screen printing to create multiples of iconic images. He was also a filmmaker, writer, and publisher, known for his "Factory" studio where he created art and hosted a vibrant social scene. Warhol's work gained prominence in the 1960s with his paintings of everyday objects like Campbell's soup cans and Coca-Cola bottles, as well as portraits of celebrities like Marilyn Monroe. Here we have this beautiful multi-colored round rug from the Warhol Home Collection, designed in 1987 and produced by Sphinx. Labeled on the back. Nazmiyal Collection Diamond Dust Shoes Vintage Pop Art Andy Warhol Rug
Located in New York, NY
Intriguing Diamond Dust Shoes Vintage Pop Art Rug Inspired by Andy Warhol, Country of Origin: Europe, Circa Date: Vintage Crafted in Europe circa date: late 20th century, the Diamond Dust Shoes Vintage Pop Art Rug Inspired by Andy Warhol is a one‑of‑a‑kind masterpiece that blends high‑art wit with vibrant, wearable design. At 6 ft × 9 ft 2 in, its bold, joy‑filled palette and graphic footwear motif channel Warhol’s famous “blotted line” technique - his early sketches of shoes for commercial clients, which became a signature of his 1950s graphic style. Pop Art pedigree: By featuring stylized shoe silhouettes in jewel tones against a striking backdrop, the design echoes Warhol’s playful yet refined critique of mass culture . Mid‑century modern appeal: Originally produced in 1996 by a European atelier with Scandinavian sensibility, this rug evokes the same bold simplicity and rich color choices that defined Warhol’s “Diamond Dust Shoes” series. Art you can live on: Equally striking as a floor covering or a wall‑hung tapestry, its durable wool construction makes it suitable for high‑traffic areas-transforming any space into a curated gallery vibe. Perfect for collectors who: Adore the intersection of fine art and everyday design. Crave vintage statements that never go out of style. Desire an authentic piece with proven provenance and “Pop” legitimacy. This rug is more than home decor-it’s a cultural artifact infused with Warhol’s legacy: commercial iconography made into timeless art. Offered by Nazmiyal Antique Rugs...
